This position has a strong focus on job recruitment. Incumbent will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. Incumbent will assist with identifying, recruiting, and screening potential employees for specific positions within the company. The HR & Safety Coordinator supports and coordinates activities across both Human Resources and Safety functions to ensure compliance, organization, and employee engagement. The HR & Safety Coordinator helps to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and respect throughout the organization. The incumbent must maintain a high level of confidentiality as the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with confidential information relating to payroll, Workers Compensation, medical files, and insurance claims. Incumbent may be required to assist with DOT regulations and recordkeeping. Essential Tasks Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process Collaborates with HR Director and department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and needs of the organization Assists with job posting and advertisement processes Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions Develops and maintains relationships with trade area communities, schools, and groups such as FFA, 4H, etc. to educate and foster potential future candidates Assists with hiring and onboarding process as needed – prepares new hire paperwork Coordinates employee orientations and ensures required documentation is completed and accurately processed Maintains accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases Supports the development and administration of company safety programs, policies, and procedures Helps to administer and track training, including safety training, certifications, and compliance documentation Assists with OSHA logs and assist with workers’ compensation claims and return to work programs. Assist in DOT driver qualification compliance, recordkeeping, and Safety Performance Records Assists in Preventative maintenance program Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
