What you will do * Processes requisitions and purchase orders; reviews and edits requirements as needed. * Places supply orders with vendors via telephone, EDI, fax, or internet using the computerized materials management system. * Communicates with supplier representatives to obtain product information, quotes, pricing, and delivery schedules; follows up and expedites orders to ensure timely delivery. * Maintains stock levels, records, reports, reference materials, catalogs, and vendor files; researches and evaluates new products, services, and vendors. * Coordinates product returns, resolves backorder or delivery issues, and recommends economical shipping methods consistent with requirements. * Distributes product information to department heads and staff as appropriate. * Assists with the selection, training, and support of departmental personnel.
