ABOUT US

Granville College is committed to providing high-quality education that prepares students for successful careers in the legal field. Our Paralegal Program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to excel in legal environments across British Columbia. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Paralegal Program Instructor to join our faculty and mentor the next generation of legal professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies or Law and/or in-house training from a Law Firm or other Legal establishment
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a paralegal or legal professional in British Columbia
  • Must be a licenced and practicing Paralegal
  • Strong understanding of BCs legal system, court procedures, and administrative processes
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software (e.g., Clio, PCLaw, Amicus Attorney)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and adapt teaching methods for diverse learners
  • Knowledge of legal ethics, confidentiality, and professional responsibility
  • Experience with LMS, particularly Canvas, considered an asset
  • Experience with program development, considered an asset
Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures and practical training in paralegal studies, including legal research, drafting legal documents, litigation procedures, and ethics
  • Teach British Columbias legal system, including relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures
  • Provide hands-on instruction in legal software (e.g., Clio, PCLaw, Amicus Attorney)
  • Guide students through case studies, mock trials, and real-world legal scenarios
  • Assess student progress through assignments, examinations, and practical evaluations
  • Offer mentorship and career guidance to help students transition into the legal field
  • Stay current with industry trends, legislation changes, and best practices
  • Collaborate with academic staff to develop and enhance course materials
  • Maintain compliance with educational accreditation standards and institutional policies
  • Foster an inclusive and professional learning environment
