Job Description   Job Title:                                Disassembly Tech                                Job Function:                         Yard Reports To:                            Store Manager, Inventory Manager                 Classification:                        Non-Exempt Date Approved/Revised:      March 4, 2024   Summary  This Disassembly Tech dismantles off-road agricultural and construction equipment and/or processes used inventory coming in by way of storage and dismantling units for sale. Completes jobs that are assigned by management in an effort to cross-train in various departments and tasks.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Employee must be able to perform these essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship. * Receives and dismantles off-road construction and agricultural equipment or tractors, attachments, and light industrial units as directed. * Prep units and park as per salvage parking process. * Ability to read and decipher parts diagrams, and remove parts safely and efficiently. * Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. * Ability to determine quality issues on parts being removed and communicate with team * Remove all fast-moving parts from individual machines, identify and store in the appropriate place. * Assist customers in locating parts in yard. * Ability to recognize which parts can be sold individually and which parts are kept as a “kit”. * Transfers parts to the proper storage area via forklift or other yard equipment. * Responsible for basic facility maintenance. * Follows all safety protocols and policies. * Operates yard truck safely and respectfully * Maintains a clean work area and company tools. * Attends daily huddles. * Performs all other duties as assigned. * Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).   Supervisory Responsibilities * This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.   Physical Requirements * Ability to sit, stand, climb up and down ladders, work with arms above head, bend, twist, squat on a regular basis. * Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control. * Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays. * Able to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs. on a regular basis. * Able to push, pull and lift up to 100lbs. on an occasional basis. * Frequent heavy, physical effort: carrying/lifting heavy items, transferring/lifting or pushing items. Assistance available when necessary.   Potential Hazards  * Employee may be exposed to hazardous substances including a variety of petroleum-based products, cleaning solvents, etc. on a regular basis. * Employee may be exposed to sharp (cutting) tools on a regular basis. * Employees will be exposed to extreme weather conditions- +30 degrees Celsius and –30 degrees Celsius.   Competencies necessary to perform this job * Time Management - Effective time management skills to independently complete tasks with minimal disruption to company users. * Organization – Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain a smooth work flow. * Teamwork – Ability to work closely with a variety of employees while maintaining a positive attitude.  * Problem Solving – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. * Communication – Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.  Ability to ask detailed questions to comprehend requests. * Safety and Security – Follow safety policies/plans created by the company; utilize tools and equipment in a safe and proper manner.   Required Education/Experience/Skills * High School graduate, or equivalent work experience. * Must be able to read and write English proficiently. * Must have experience with hand tools   Preferred Education/Experience/Skills * Proven experience, particularly within the agriculture and construction parts sectors, preferred. * Basic computer knowledge is an asset. * Experience around equipment is an asset. 1.
