Job Details As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in community safety by ensuring children and other members of the community safely cross the road at a designated point between specified times. No formal qualifications are necessary, the ability to cope in all weather conditions, a good road sense, knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code and previous experience of working with children would be desirable. It is essential that you can attend the patrol point daily at school opening and closing times in all weather conditions, including attending at short notice in the event of unscheduled school closures. Hours are mainly 8:20am to 9:15am and 2:50pm to 3:25pm.
