Salary: £54000 to £58000 per annum, experience dependant.

As a Principal Highway Engineer, you will use your specialist engineering knowledge and experience to support members of the team as we plan project work and resources as well as providing support to the Team Manager on various design and maintenance duties. You will collaborate with colleagues across our multi-discipled workforce and our clients, from our Local Authority partners, North Yorkshire Council as well as private sector clients where you can your knowledge as well as develop your own skills.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent in an appropriate discipline, with substantial experience working in this field.
• A proven track record in the application, principles, theory and practice of the specialist area of responsibility such as UK standards, adoptable standards and guidelines and specifications relating to the area of expertise
• Substantial experience within an engineering consultancy or highway management organisation
• A sound knowledge and experience of managing construction contracts in the roles of NEC Project Manager and NEC Supervisor preferably qualified with NEC3 or NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation
• The ability to lead and direct early career staff or oversee packages of work

• It would also be desirable to have gained Professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards this status.
