The core business of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of quality capital works projects for TasWater that will meet the needs of TasWater’s business, their stakeholders and Tasmanian communities for years to come. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and this role is critical in supporting our people, contractors and partners to go home safe every day. The Opportunity This role will be based on the Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project. Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Safety Advisor will provide hands‑on advice and operational support to project teams, ensuring safety programs, systems and initiatives are effectively implemented and continuously improved. You will work closely with project management, site teams and key stakeholders to identify and manage HSE risks, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements. Key responsibilities Provide expert safety advice and support across capital projects Implement, review and improve the HSEQ management system Monitor and interpret WH&S legislation and ensure compliance across projects Conduct audits, inspections and investigations, managing corrective actions Support safety in design, construction and contractor management activities Contribute to safety reporting, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives Liaise with regulators, partners and external stakeholders as required Support return‑to‑work and injury management processes Promote and embed a strong “One HSE” safety culture across the Alliance Minimum Requirements Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or related discipline) Significant experience in safety, health and environmental management within construction or infrastructure, preferably in a Tier 1 Contractor.
