Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our team as a Paediatric Senior Nurse in the Children’s Emergency Department (CED).
We have a part time opportunity to join our Team.
We are seeking an experienced paediatric ED nurse who is passionate about improving care and service delivery within the units, meeting the needs of our patients whilst also meeting the national standards for emergency care.
The Children’s Emergency Department is a purpose-built environment for children and young people aged 0-15 years and has approximately 31,000 attendances a year across our Children’s Emergency and urgent care pathways.
It has a dedicated 2 bedded resuscitation area within the unit and is part of the major trauma network. CED is co-located with the Paediatric Assessment unit which provides short stay care for children for 24 hours. There is also an urgent treatment centre on site.
We are a friendly dedicated team of Paediatric Nurses and Paediatric consultants. The department is committed to continuous improvements in the service and benefits from having a Paediatric Emergency Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner service. There is also support from the paediatric practice education team.
There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust! Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme. These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.
The trust has recently gained ‘teaching hospital’ status which reflects the dedicated work of many teams and individuals who have set the standard for delivering high quality training, learning and education at all levels of the workforce.
We are a flexible working employer
At West Herts we recognise the importance of a good work life balance and the ability to work flexibly. We are delighted to offer a variety of flexible working options for all staff. Please check out our web page for more information.
