Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor Observation Unit to join the team. This role will be full-time nights; 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (shifts will vary). The Observation Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital is located close to the Emergency Room and comprised of 36 beds in ED type bays. This fast-paced unit experiences a high turnover of Observation patients, with an average length of stay of 25 hours, while also providing occasional inpatient care. The patient population consists of cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patients. This position allows for future professional growth by teaching the fast-paced atmosphere of an ER while strengthening critical skills in a medical/surgical setting.  Ideal for candidates who possess strong time management skills, work well in a team -paced settings. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must be within one (1) year of completing BSN * Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting. * Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one (1) year from date of hire.
