THE SERVICE & TEAM: EARLY YEARS INCLUSION AND SEND
We are part of the wider Inclusion and SEND County Team. We are a large and dedicated team supporting children aged 0–5 across Cornwall. Working through localities, we focus on building strong multi-agency partnerships with professionals involved in Early Years support. Our collaboration with early years settings—including childminders and schools—aims to empower them to meet the needs of children with additional needs. This support may include tailored advice, modelling best practices, delivering training, and assisting with documentation.
As lead officers, we deeply value the extensive experience and diverse talents within our team. We remain committed to ensuring that every child in Cornwall enjoys an inclusive early years experience, feels valued, and achieves the best possible outcomes.
THE ROLE:
The purpose of the Nursery Nurse is to work as part of the Early Years Service support inclusion and improve outcomes for children with long term and complex needs within their setting. You will need recent experience of working with children with SEND including delivering interventions, to improve the quality of learning and teaching within the graduated approach. You will need a sound understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The role will involve working as part of a team as well as working independently to support the caseload.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
You will need an up to date of safeguarding through training and experience. This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
