The Program Director is responsible for multiple programs (sites) and ensures quality care for persons served while maintaining compliance with state regulations. Responsible for providing training to staff regarding the care of persons served, policies and procedures, and how to maintain compliance with state regulations and county licensing requirements. Provide on call support and rotation as required by program. At Opportunity Matters, we encourage the persons served to be as independent as possible, by teaching independent living skills. Depending on the needs of the persons served, the work may include performing the tasks completely for others, or it may be assisting the persons served with the completion of the tasks. Program Directors have a strong desire to create positive impacts on the lives of persons served and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. This is a hands-on role that requires presence at the sites. Program Directing is a fulfilling career with a sense of purpose and the ability to witness the tangible results of your work. Foster meaningful relationships and advocate for the needs of those you support within the community. Essential Duties · Provide direction to Program Coordinators (PC), Program Managers (PM), Evening Supervisors (ES), and DSP Floats (DSPFT Float) to ensure quality care for persons served. Provide support to PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats to consistently address issues encountered in homes/programs in a timely manner. · Provide leadership to PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats through facilitating training and conducting monthly team meetings. Monitor work of PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats, manage performance, and coach PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats to effectively address employee performance concerns. · Ensure compliance to state and county regulations governing the programs by completing quality assurance reviews every six months and reviewing all license requirements and completion status. · Review and analyze various weekly and monthly reports including progress reports, persons served program reports, occupancy reports, exception reports, money sheets, and medication administration reports, etc. · Train new staff and assist with continued training and development of staff including the training of PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats. · Communicate the progress of persons served programs to Lead Program Director as needed or requested. · Responsible to fulfill the duties of “On-Call” leader as noted in the rotational schedule. · Openly and frequently communicate with persons served and team members utilizing clear verbal communication and listening skills. · Fill-In for PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats when absent. · Professionally represent the Organization and department or site to current employees, volunteers, vendors, and community. · Ensure that Organization data/info spreadsheets are up to date. · Communicate the progress and general operations of the sites/programs to the LPD. · Ensure financial support paperwork is completed for those required. · Participate in Organizational events and activities. · Ensure there is adequate shift coverage at all times. This may include, but is not limited to, staying beyond a scheduled shift or covering/splitting open shifts with the PC/PM/ES/DSPFT Floats. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Qualifications and Education (must-haves) (1) a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; (2) an associate degree in a field related to human services, and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; (3) a diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or (4) a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities; and (5) four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses (1) to (3). AND Must be competent to perform the duties as required and minimally meet the education and training requirements identified in MN Statute 245D, and have a minimum of three years of supervisory level experience in a program providing direct support services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older. 1. Designated Manager per DHS 245D. 2. Obtain and maintain acceptable clearance of the DHS Background Study. 3. Obtain and maintain OMI Medication Administration certificate within 60 days of hire. 4. Valid U.S. Class D Driver’s License with acceptable record under insurance guidelines. 5. Ability to lead individuals we serve and display appropriate behavior as a role model, work without immediate supervision, multi-task, effectively communicate, make decisions, accept and follow change, and interact with others at all levels of the organization. 6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Supervisors, Directors, clients, customers, and the general public. Read, Write, and Speak English fluently. 7. Reasoning ability to solve practical problems, deal with a variety of variables in situations, interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or schedule form. 8. Ability to prepare food/meals: Understanding of ingredients, measuring sizes, following a recipe, and preparing all types of foods. Work Environment and Physical Demands The work environment may be slow or fast paced, depending on what is happening at the client home. This is an environment of constantly working with others. The noise level is generally moderate but can be loud. · Regularly lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs to waist height unaccompanied. · Alternate sitting and standing and walking for duration of shift. · Frequently required to walk, stand, bend, twist, or stoop. · Frequently apply coordinated use of hands and fingers to grasp, feel objects, transfer small items from one hand to another, fine manipulation, and bilateral reach with arms. · Use of close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Pay and Benefits Starting pay range for this salaried exempt position is $59,000 to $64,000.
