Baggers assist customers with loading groceries, collecting carts, and supporting overall cleanliness and organization at the front end. This role plays a key part in creating a positive and helpful shopping experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Packs grocery items carefully into bags based on item type, weight, and customer preference, following company standards. Assists customers by placing groceries in carts and escorting them to their vehicles when needed. Collects and returns shopping carts from parking areas to maintain a clean and safe environment. Assists customers with questions and directs them to product locations or appropriate staff. Verifies pricing on items when requested and communicates clearly with the cashier. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and front-end stations. Carries out trash, restocks front-end supplies (bags, receipt paper, cleaning materials), and sanitizes high-touch areas regularly. Provides backup support to other departments, such as stocking shelves or unloading deliveries, as directed. Upholds excellent customer service standards by being courteous, attentive, and professional at all times. Follows all store safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines. Provides assistance relative to monthly and fiscal inventory. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of retail or merchandising experience. Candidates must be able to work flexible retail hours and meet physical requirements including standing for long periods and lifting up to 30lbs.
