At St John of God Geraldton we currently have a number of casual positions available. Applicants will continue to be considered for future positions as they arise across various wards over the next six months. The Position Facilitate all aspects of the patient's pre-admission Collation of all appropriate paperwork. Validate and process admissions forms. Enter all relevant patient and booking data on the computer in an accurate and concise manner. Seek information for the completion of the Patient Fee Estimate. Produce all patient labels and compiles admission documents verifying accurate and completeness of all documentation. Assist patients with completion of admissions paperwork face to face. Monitor and verification of Pre-Admissions Clinic appointment requirements for patients and ensure that these are booked. Ensure that all patients who require a Pre-admissions assessment have relevant nursing forms in their admissions pack. Final check of admissions pack and consolidation with medical records. Process outstanding admissions paperwork on day of admissions if needed. Receipt all monies received on admissions. Provides patient with all relevant information regarding their admissions into hospital and full details of associated costs. Conduct health fund checks. Confirms patient status for MVIT, workers compensation, etc. Obtain quotes for uninsured patients. Review and validate patient consents Generate patient admissions files and adhere to sound document management. Facilitate all aspects of booking cancellations and rescheduling. Attend to the hospital reception. Provide and maintain a prompt and efficient telephone and reception service for the hospital including switchboard and wayfinding. Ensures that a high level of customer service is provided in a professional and courteous manner. Interview patients with a focus on patient ID verification and increasing patient comfort. Assist patients with any special requests they require and advises relevant departments. Handover of patient to nurses. Monitors and responds to critical and non-critical hospital alarms and security systems according to hospital procedures. Generates daily reports (morning and night) e.g. discharges, proposed admissions and current in-patients. You will possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide high-level customer service assisting you to liaise effectively with the public, patients, and all levels of caregivers in a professional manner. A solid understanding of document management is needed, with meticulous attention to detail and accurate data entry. Sound planning and organisational skills are essential, including the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands. To succeed you will have demonstrated experience in a fast-paced administration position preferably within a health care or medical environment. Computer skills with a good working knowledge of MS office will be required for the role. Good working knowledge of webPAS will be highly regarded.
