Become the HIMS Technician you always wanted to be • Maintains delinquent records at less than 50%25 of the average discharge rate. • Monitors staff deficiencies and assures that all IRF-PAI data elements are completed. • Completes physician and staff deficiency checklist. • Performs final check of medical records before designating records complete. • Abstracts discharge date for PATCOM system for all discharged inpatients. • Accurately completes data entry of all PATCOM HIMS data. • Monitors and corrects errors on daily exception reports. Qualifications • Registered Health Information (RHIT) preferred. • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. • Graduate of accredited Medical Record Technology College or vocational school preferred. • Minimum three years of hospital HIMS experience preferred in lieu of certification. • Knowledge of medical terminology required. • One year data entry experience preferred.
