Description:
Edgar Minerals, Inc. is currently looking for a Quality Control Specialist for our Hawthorne, Florida location. The ideal candidate will perform quality assurance tests to ensure the quality of products and that they conform to established company standards. These tests will include, but not be limited to the following: Gradation/Sieve Analysis, Sand Equivalency, Colorimetric, and Refractory of Heavy Minerals.

Requirements:

• Must be proficient in math
• Must be knowledgeable in computer software, Excel, and Word
• Must be detail oriented
• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Must be able to work any shift
• Strong work ethic. Honest and dependable.
• Ethics and moral values are important.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Associate’s degree in science/engineering or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider an equivalent combination of experience and/or education
• Computer skills required. Strong knowledge of Excel and Word
• Must be able to pass a drug test and pre-employment physical

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Requires significant walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but not limited to pushing, turning, and/or pulling.
