This role involves facilitating recruitment, managing personnel records, assisting with benefits enrollment, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a basic understanding of key HR areas such as recruitment, onboarding, personnel records, job descriptions, benefits, wellness programs, ergonomics, safety, worker’s compensation, and compliance with procedures, policies, and legal requirements. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of procedures, policies, and legal requirements for assigned responsibilities. Facilitate the recruitment process to support staffing needs, providing administrative and document support throughout. Perform various administrative tasks, including maintaining personnel records, completing onboarding and termination paperwork, data entry, ordering supplies, drafting communications, responding to emails and calls, and filing forms. Ensure compliance with laws and timelines by filing reports and posting notices (e.g., EEO, OSHA Log 300). Prepare and distribute reports to directors or designated staff at regular intervals. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, provide referrals, support the annual open enrollment process, and offer information on voluntary benefits. Assist employees with accessing the HRIS program and act as a coordinator for leaves of absence, tracking entitlements and providing related information. Enroll employees in the 401k plan, distribute forms, and answer questions about contributions. Stay updated on employment and record-keeping laws and policies, including hiring, termination, leave, benefits, and payroll. Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries from current and former employees. Organize and manage new employee orientations, benefits orientations, and annual events, and assist with recognition events and mandated training programs. Maintain a current procedure manual for assigned responsibilities. Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of employee, department and organization information.
