Job Title: TIG Welder Reports to: Supervisor of designated department FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday-Thursday - extended hours may be required to support business needs   Primary duties and responsibilities:   * This position will follow written instructions with daily route sheets, blueprints of components to be joined-together, and possibly at multiple angles.  * Measure, and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, tape measures, protractors, and calipers. * Working knowledge of XYZ and LRA coordinates is a plus. * Perform GTAW (TIG) and FCAW (Flux-core) welding on a variety of materials, and thicknesses, sizes, and orientations. * Inspect welds for accuracy, and consistency. * Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements provided. * Follow established safety, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.   Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge: * Prefer 4-5 years of experience working with MIG, and TIG welding. * Position requires good mathematical abilities, strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as tape Measures, Calipers, Protractors, Micrometers, and other various measuring tools. * Must have experience with Grinders, Buffers, and other hand-held tools. * Experience with selecting the correct Torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to material thickness. * Must be able to read blueprints and use engineering print layouts. * Must have experience using Weld fixtures, and/or Jigs for aligning workpieces prior to welding. * Must be capable of safe operation of gas, and non-gas welding equipment in accordance with safety guidelines. * Experience reading and understanding weld symbols on blueprints. * Some safety equipment must be worn when working on or around equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 40 lbs. is required.    Physical environment/work conditions:  The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
