Responsibilities

  • Picture Conform: Aligning high-quality source media to approved offline edits with precise timing
  • Sound Conform: Replacing offline sound design with final programme stems for mixing
  • Dialogue editing
  • Reframing content for other aspect-ratios and platforms
  • Final Picture QC: Precise bug placements and adherence to platform or broadcast safe zones
  • Final Sound QC: Identify unclear dialogue in mix and adherence to loudness specifications provided (e.g. ITU-R BS.1770-3)
  • Audio Stem QC: Identify additional, misplaced or missing sound content in stems
  • Localisation Metadata: Ensure that EDL/XML file references, timecodes, track order and filenames are correct to facilitate content localisation
  • Containerising multi-channel stems for delivery

Following skills are a Plus:

  • Colour correction & grading
  • Have experience mentoring assistant editors
  • Sound mix and mastering
  • Familiarity with IMF & DCP
  • Has worked with with OMF and AAF interchange formats for sound post-production workflows

Requirements

  • 3 to 7 years of relevant conform and finishing experience
  • Communicate well in English
  • Deep understanding of video & sound encoding, broadcast & cinema delivery formats
  • Have a good habit with highly-organised project bins, timeline layers & tracks, and file management
