We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Hauppauge, New York. In this role, you will contribute to key financial operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and tax-related tasks. • Prepare and analyze journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.
• Handle sales tax computations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.
• Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics for accounting tasks and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to support month-end and year-end closings.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Payroll experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics software.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
