Robert Half is partnering with an organization that’s looking to add a Sr Accounts Payable Specialist due to rapid growth. This is a full-time/permanent role working fully on site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be willing to work fully on site
• Post secondary education in accounting, finance or in a related field
• 4+ years of comprehensive accounts payable experience, preferably in construction or real estate development industries
• Proficient in using different project management and accounting systems
• Skilled in reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies effectively
• Demonstrated ability to manage high transaction volumes with accuracy and efficiency
• Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to maintaining data integrity
• Solid understanding of HST compliance requirements and construction cost coding methodologies
• Strong communication skills for effectively liaising with vendors, trades, and internal project teams
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Manage large volumes of vendor invoices, progress draws, and subcontractor billings
• Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation
• Accurately code all costs to respective projects, cost codes, and general ledger accounts
• Record and reconcile accounts payable transactions in Procore and QuickBooks to ensure accurate job cost reporting and financial statements
• Confirm proper HST treatment for all invoices to comply with CRA regulations
• Support month-end processes, including AP accruals and project cost reporting
• Conduct regular supplier and trade statement reconciliations
• Identify and resolve outstanding invoices, credits, and disputes promptly
• Collaborate with vendors and project teams to address payment-related issues efficiently
• Propose and execute enhancements to streamline accounts payable workflows
• Assist the finance team with reporting, audits, and meeting compliance standards
