Description

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee strategic sourcing and category management for services such as consulting, legal, financial, HR, and contingent labor. This role will play a pivotal part in optimizing supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and implementing a Managed Service Provider program for contingent workforce management. This is a long-term contract opportunity based in San Jose, California.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain strategic sourcing plans aligned to business priorities across professional service categories.
Leverage spend analytics, market insights, and risk profiles to identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities.
Provide category subject matter expertise to influence sourcing decisions and optimize supplier utilization.
Lead full-cycle sourcing initiatives including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs across multiple service lines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, business requirements, and evaluation criteria.
Conduct supplier assessments and lead negotiation efforts to secure optimal terms and risk mitigation.
Partner with Legal and internal stakeholders to review, redline, and finalize contractual agreements.
Monitor compliance with company policies, contract terms, and regulatory requirements.
Drive timely contract renewals, renegotiations, and issue resolution
Direct the implementation and governance of a Managed Service Provider (MSP) program for contingent labor.
Serve as the central point of contact between internal clients and the MSP/vendor partner.
Establish KPIs and ensure adherence to service-level agreements and operational goals.
Build trusted partnerships with stakeholders across HR, Finance, Legal, and business units.
Promote sourcing best practices and ensure procurement policy alignment across teams.
Facilitate training and awareness initiatives to drive supplier governance and compliance.
Lead performance management and continuous improvement plans with strategic suppliers.
Monitor supplier risks and implement mitigation and continuity plans as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline; MBA or master’s preferred.
5–8 years of progressive experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally with a focus on professional services.
Hands-on experience in contract negotiations, supplier management, and MSP/VMS deployment.
Strong understanding of indirect procurement—especially legal, HR, consulting, and financial services.
Effective negotiation, stakeholder influence, and change management capabilities.
Proficiency with sourcing tools (e.g., Oracle, Coupa, Ariba) and vendor management systems (VMS).
Exceptional communication, project management, and analytical skills.
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
