Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Software Developer will be designing and building a Windows-based companion application for our Transportation Management System (TMS). Beyond this core project, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of application development and API integration initiatives that drive efficiency, automation and scalability across the company.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure and CI/CD pipelines)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in one or more programing languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python, JavaScript)
  • Proficiency with .NET (C#/VB.NET), SQL and SQLite in a Windows environment
  • Experience with web development (ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Knowledge of enterprise system integrations (logistics, supply chain, ERP/CRM)
  • Strong understanding of Visual Studio development workflows
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Familiarity with GITHUB or other source control/codebase management tools
  • Solid problem-solving, debugging, analytical skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in software/application development required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Windows desktop applications using.NET and Visual Studio
  • Build and manage local databases (SQL Server, SQLite) to support thick client applications.
  • Support and maintain REST APT integrations across internal and partner systems.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications by troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance and implementing updates.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to web application development and internal tools as needed.
  • Manager codebases with GitHub, including version control, branching strategies, and code reviews.
  • Maintain and publish API documentations using Postman.
  • Support the development of our integrations platform with the new Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs and processes.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools and methodologies relevant to application development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
