We look forward to meeting you.   The Role About the Role:   As a Visual Instruction Developer Level 3 at Newport News Shipbuilding, you will serve as a technical expert in developing advanced visual work instructions and manufacturing documentation that guide ship construction and integration activities. You’ll collaborate across engineering, planning, and production teams to translate complex technical data into clear, accurate, and visually engaging content. Your experience will help drive standardization, quality, and innovation in how visual instructions are developed and implemented across programs. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of high-quality 2D and 3D visual work instructions for shipbuilding and manufacturing processes. Interpret complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to create accurate, step-by-step visual documentation. Collaborate with engineering, planning, and trade experts to validate content and ensure compliance with design and production requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives by refining visualization processes, templates, and digital standards. Serve as a mentor and technical lead for junior developers, providing training and quality reviews. Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of accurate visual documentation to support production schedules. Utilize advanced visualization and authoring tools (NX, Teamcenter, Creo, or similar).   Analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs). Interprets and adds design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP. Incorporates required changes as applicable. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
