Position Summary: This position performs measurement system development and provides metrology of various molded components, extruded tubes, etc., for development/validation activities. Provide technical direction to Metrology Department personnel in inspection, production support, and process validation activities. Support engineering teams through sample measurements, MSD/MSA, drawing reviews & validation planning. Develop and update standard operating procedures for the metrology department. Identify and implement continuous improvement activities. Collaborate with engineering for the design and manufacture of fixturing. Help in establishing and updating a cost model for metrology. Understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing with the ability to train other team members as necessary. Measurement system development and analysis (MSD, MSA, Gage R&R, etc.) Operate and write routines for automated optical measurement equipment. Operate and write routines for coordinate measurement machines (CMM). Operate mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, etc.). Stay abreast of developments in measurement technology and recommend equipment to expand capacity and capability. Organize activities in the measurement lab to meet production and project schedules. Proficiency in personal computer software (Microsoft Office). Ability to work and provide direction to team members. Effective communication skills (written/verbal). Ability to integrate written and verbal instructions. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or other related field or equivalent job-related experience 5 years of inspection experience, specifically using coordinate measuring equipment.
