Chez Alice Patisserie is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Cook to join our team during a high-demand season. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for pastry arts and strong cake decorating and writing skills. The ideal candidate will assist in the production of baked goods, with a primary focus on custom cakes requiring hand-piped lettering and artistic detail. Candidate must be willing to work weekdays/nights, weekends and/or holidays. Essential Functions: Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards. Write personalized messages on cakes using various piping techniques with accuracy and aesthetic appeal. Decorate cakes with buttercream, fondant, and other finishing elements as needed. Maintain a clean and organized pastry station in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Assist in inventory management, including labeling and storing ingredients. Collaborate with the pastry team to ensure timely and high-quality product output during peak periods. Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor Handle food in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, and all storage areas Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense Requirements: 1+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with training or experience in health-related disciplines. The ability to read, write, and follow directions is required.
