REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 1+ year experience as an engineer, technical content creator or developer advocate
• Strong technical credibility - able to communicate dev-to-dev with authority
• Passion for storytelling, community engagement and developer experience
• Comfortable experimenting with new channels and approaches
• Must be based in San Francisco (onsite, 5 days/week)

ABOUT THE ROLE

An AI dev tools startup in San Francisco is seeking its first Developer Advocate hire. This is a 0→1 opportunity to define how developers experience and adopt a product that is already transforming how engineering teams work.
The Developer Advocate will act as the bridge between product and community driving adoption, shaping the conversation around AI-assisted development and building trust at scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and own developer advocacy strategy as the first hire in this function
• Create technical content: deep dives, demos, guides, and product walkthroughs
• Engage with OSS contributors, forums, and developer communities to drive adoption
• Evangelize the product across channels (Twitter/X, Hacker News, meetups, events)
• Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and developer-friendly
• Collect feedback from engineers to influence product direction
