Front-End Web Developer (Fixed-Term Contract – 12 Months)

Location: High Wycombe (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum

Contract: Fixed-Term (12 Months)

We are recruiting on behalf of an established technology company based in High Wycombe that develops cutting-edge conference, communication and audio-visual solutions used by organisations around the world.

As part of a collaborative software development team, you'll play a key role in developing and enhancing browser-based applications that provide intuitive, responsive user experiences and support real-time communication with specialist hardware and software systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Front-End Web Developer looking to work on innovative products in a friendly and supportive environment, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining modern, responsive web applications.
  • Building intuitive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
  • Developing real-time browser functionality using JavaScript and Server-Sent Events (SSE).
  • Working closely with software developers, engineers and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and real-time data services.
  • Ensuring applications are accessible, performant and compatible across modern browsers.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and optimising existing applications.
  • Contributing to code reviews and following development best practices.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong front-end development experience and a passion for building high-quality web applications.

Essential Skills

  • Strong commercial experience with:
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript (ES6+), including Server-Sent Events (SSE)
  • Experience developing responsive web applications.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems.
  • Good understanding of web accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge or experience of conferencing or unified communications technologies.
  • Experience with real-time web applications.
  • Familiarity with WebSockets.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
