To be responsible for administration of emergency management systems, and oversee operations, security, and front desk management functions. To serve as an agency liaison with providers and landlords to ensure property and building maintenance projects are coordinated and completed. To actively manage and coordinate space planning and utilization. To perform specialized duties in the area of safety inspections, including the promotion of safety and health measures to ensure compliance with acceptable safety standards governed by state occupational safety laws. To act as a liaison to law enforcement, first responders, and community partners for routine and emergency needs. To serve as the Department’s Disaster Plan Manager on all physical aspects ensuring buildings are protected and that staff is secure and safe during any unforeseen manufactured or natural events. To be responsible for creating, updating, and administering all appropriate operational plans for the department and serve as the Continuity of Operations Plan designee in conjunction with the State of Rhode Island’s Emergency Management Agency by coordinating actions with essential functions of the State government in case of a disaster event.
