The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in issuing medications and conducting inventory of stock levels. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician may measure, mix, count, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. This position is based in Israel. Key Responsibilities: Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Retrieves, pours, counts, weighs, measures, and sometimes mixes medication. Support inventory and quality control. Performs administrative functions such as answering phones and stocking shelves. Prepares prescription labels, selects the type of container and affixes the prescription and auxiliary labels to the container. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications: 3+ years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician including 6 months within the last year. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred. Education Required: Must have completed a formal Pharmacy Technician training program leading to a diploma, certificate or an associate’s degree. U.S. Military Pharmacy technical school training certification (4P0X1, 68Q, or HM-8482) will also fulfill this requirement or country of record equivalent. Physical Requirements: Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs. Other Special Qualifications: Valid Passport from country of record with at least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Israel.
