THE TEAM Reporting to the Manager of Community Responders and Volunteers, you will have a statewide role in administrative responsibility for all Ambulance Tasmania volunteers and the GoodSAM community responder program. You will engage with and support the three regional Volunteer and Responder Team Leaders. THE ROLE Ambulance Tasmania is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Volunteer and Community Responder Support Officer. This crucial position upholds service standards and provides essential support to our volunteer workforce and our GoodSAM community responder program. The role supports the recruitment, onboarding, coordination, retention and sustainment of Volunteer Ambulance Officers (VAOs), GoodSAM Community Responders and the GoodSAM AED Registry. Through effective administration and coordination support of these programs, the position contributes to the availability, readiness and sustainment of frontline volunteer and community responder resources, supporting Ambulance Tasmania's operational service delivery and community resilience. The role operates under general direction within established policies, systems and procedures and is required to follow defined processes, apply sound administrative judgement within scope, and escalate complex or sensitive matters as appropriate while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. YOU WILL NEED * Act as the first point of contact for enquiries relating to volunteers, volunteering, GoodSAM community responders and related routine matters, providing standard information and guidance in a professional, sensitive and confidential manner, and referring complex or sensitive matters as appropriate. * Provide administrative support for Volunteer Ambulance Officer (VAO) lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, records management and ongoing administration, in accordance with established processes and recognising the requirements of a volunteer emergency service workforce. * Provide administrative support for the GoodSAM Community Responder program, including responder screening, onboarding, communications and routine coordination activities in accordance with established procedures.
