JOB INTRODUCTION

Are you an experienced and dynamic Works Manager or Commercial Manager looking for your next position?
We are currently looking for a Works Manager to support and lead development within our Bid Team across the Riney business. Within this role you will be leading the Private / Developer works department, pursuing and delivering works for Private sector clients from Site Projects, S278 works, Hard Landscaping to Public Realm type works within the London Markets. You will work closely with stakeholders across the businesses of JB Riney, Tarmac and CRH including Contracts and Finance Directors, Senior Estimators, Commercial and Operational delivery teams.
You will strive to develop and strengthen key internal and external relationships, securing increased lead generation and market share, whilst helping to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determining plans for how these can be met. You will foster and strive to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the successful Works Manager, your role will focus on three key elements:

Business Development

• Identifying and developing new business opportunities, building relationships with various stakeholders whilst continuously evaluating and developing existing partnerships
• Managing key client relationships alongside building new relationships, expanding the profile and reach of the company and its brand
• Identifying and recommending new markets, proposing and developing strategic partnerships

Estimating

• Analysing tender enquiry documents whilst assisting the Bid team with pricing, including building up SOR items from first principals and drafting BOQ from spec and drawings where necessary to secure Subcontractor enquiries/pricing
• Working alongside our Operational team members for delivery solutions

Commercial

• Ensuring governance and contract/legal review processes are followed for all projects
• Overseeing the measurement and preparation of valuations, maximising financial returns within provisions of contract conditions and company procedures
• Lending contractual expertise to colleagues at contractual level, overseeing monthly and annual cost and value reconciliations, budgets and forecasts
• Actively building relationships with customers to secure payments within contractual terms, managing overall works in progress, debt and stock
• Managing of procurement and sub-contractor accounts
