About the Tech Team – Fintech Value Stream

The Fintech Value Stream strives to improve and automate key financial processes to deliver a best-in-class experience for a broad range of business domains. We’re a cross-functional team collaborating closely with stakeholders across EQT to ensure data and technology strategically support business outcomes. Our team includes tech leads, data professionals, product managers and architects who together shape the future of finance operations through scalable, data-driven solutions.

What you’ll do

As a Software and Solution Architect, you will play a key role in shaping EQT’s technical landscape within the Fintech Value Stream. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Tech Leads, Engineers, and external partners to design and implement solutions that drive efficiency and scalability across EQT’s investment technology.

Beyond your work in the Fintech Value Stream, you'll also collaborate closely with peers in the Architecture function to shape EQT Tech's long-term architectural direction, ensuring consistency, reusability, and strategic alignment across value streams.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with tech leads and engineers to support the Fintech Value Stream in new projects & initiatives, engaging in technical discussions with both third-party service providers and internal teams to ensure a structured approach to solution development
• Assess the current architecture, team capabilities, and resource allocation to determine the best approach for future implementations
• Develop new architectural solutions and enhance existing ones to ensure they are harmonized, scalable, and efficient for all of EQT
• Establish technical standards, best practices, and improved ways of working across EQT’s Tech teams
• Collaborate with other Value Streams (Investment & Client) and Platform Teams to define interfaces, ownership, and capabilities within the Fintech domain
• Design system integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity between internal systems, new external systems, and vendors
• Work closely with the Head of Architecture and the Head of Fintech, supporting key strategic initiatives

Who are you?

We’re looking for an experienced Software and Solution Architect with a strong technical foundation and a strategic mindset. You should have a passion for problem-solving, system design, and technical leadership. You likely have 8–12 years of experience across software engineering and architecture, including time spent designing systems in regulated or data-sensitive environments.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering background, with hands-on experience designing and maintaining complex, high-availability systems that handle sensitive data
• Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data architectures
• Proven ability to drive implementation from initial requirements to high-level solution design and progress tracking
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the confidence to take a firm stance in technical discussions
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with key stakeholders and external partners
• Proactive mindset, with a desire to learn, adapt, and drive continuous improvement
• Curiosity about applying AI and advanced analytics to drive business value and innovation

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with modern data stacks and frameworks (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Fivetran)
• Familiarity with financial systems such as Netsuite, Kyriba, Hazeltree, MRI, or Aaro, and BI tools like PowerBI or Hex
