TimePlan Education is currently seeking a confident and experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant, ideally with Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience, to join a welcoming primary school team in Surbiton. This is a full-time role in a key year of academic and personal development for pupils.

• Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate lessons for Year 6 pupils.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs, particularly for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Help foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes resilience, emotional regulation, and academic success.
• Build strong relationships with children, offering pastoral and academic support during this important transitional year.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure a joined-up approach to pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Support personal development and social skills to help pupils become confident and independent learners.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience supporting children in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
• Be confident working with pupils who have additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
• Understand and confidently work with EHCPs, adapting resources and approaches accordingly.
• Demonstrate a caring, patient and empathetic approach to pupil development.
• Ideally have experience with personal care (if applicable), or be willing to support where necessary.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
