Justteachers is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harrogate to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to provide both general classroom support and targeted assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting, including those with SEN.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning.
• Ability to commit to a full-time role.
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Support teaching and learning across the school, including whole-class, small group, and 1:1 support.
• Provide tailored assistance to pupils with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation, resource management, and lesson delivery.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion policies.
