An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiologist to join the team at the Southampton General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work flexibly, be proactive and enjoy working as part of a team. You will also work collaboratively and co-operatively with other colleagues on a day-to-day basis, to meet patient and service needs. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Clinical PFT/LFT experience. CPAP & Sleep scoring desirable
• Relevant Clinical Physiology qualification
• Experience dealing with patients independently
• Lung Physiologist qualification
• Proven post qualification clinical experience
• Experience in Respiratory Physiology delivery and working as a multidisciplinary team
• Candidates must be computer literate as we will use an electronic patient record system

• To play an active role working in this busy prestigious department and be involved in performing, with minimum supervision, a wide range of physiological/clinical tests, including full lung function tests with body plethysmography, cardiopulmonary and specialised exercise tests, provocation tests, hypoxic inhalation tests and many others.
• To perform physiological tests and measurements with minimum supervision.
• To obtain accurate and informative results from patients and any other subjects performing the tests and form a test report.
• To perform all relevant quality control procedures within the department including the performance of personal biological control procedures.
