Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.   What you will do Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities: * weighing and checking materials. verifying and recording contents on ticket; * assisting technicians in setting up instruments and targets; * marking benchmarks, shoulder pickets, shoulder offset, right of ways, back of ditch stakes, grades and operating measuring lines; * ensuring truck is properly equipped with supplies and equipment; * ensuring tools are clean and in good operating order.   Work environment: * Work location:  Edmundston District. * 40-hour work week, with variable hours, including, evenings and weekends, when required. * Working on job sites in all weather conditions, exposure to dust and fumes. * Ability to lift and carry survey equipment and walking over uneven or sloping terrain. * Some travel within the province will be required. * We promote a scent-reduced environment.   Who you are   Key behavioural competencies: * Effective Interactive Communication * Flexibility * Results Orientation * Teamwork and Cooperation   Essential Qualifications: * Completion of grade ten (10). * A minimum of two (2) years related work experience. * Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.   An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
