The position follows agile development methodologies and adheres to department-defined continuous integration protocols for application documentation, testing, and deployment. Work assignments are both project-based for new development initiatives and ticket-based for maintenance and support activities. The Sr. Software Engineer operates with significant independence while collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, and providing technical leadership to junior developers. This role requires expertise in full-stack development, database management, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Six years of related work experience with computer systems and applications. Additional education may substitute for experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of portal frameworks and content management systems such as Liferay, SharePoint, or similar enterprise portal platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration including working with Large Language Models (LLMs), natural language processing APIs, and embedding AI capabilities into web applications.
  • Experience implementing intelligent search capabilities, recommendation engines, and personalization features within portal environments.
  • Knowledge of portal-specific technologies including portlet development, widget frameworks, and micro-frontend architectures.
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns, message queuing systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques for high-traffic portal applications including caching strategies, CDN implementation, and database query optimization.
  • Knowledge of analytics integration and user behavior tracking within portal environments.
  • Experience with federated search implementation across multiple data sources and systems.
