The MA recognizes patient's needs and symptoms in advance and responds appropriately, always keeping patient safety and the patient experience at the center of care delivery. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Clinical Duties and Expectations Provides relationship-based, patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease, etc.) in a manner that adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity. Partners with the patient and significant others and/or family (as appropriate); keeping the patient at ease in the office through a collaborative and communicative approach to all care rendered. Prepares patient for the visit with the physicians/APPs. Prepares rooms and equipment, and aids physicians/APPs with treatment of patients. Carries out orders generated from the office visit. Responds to patient requests generated outside of the office visit. Maintains the safety needs of the patient at all times. May be required to support front office operations by assisting with check-in, check-out, scheduling, and other non-clinical functions. Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Provides patient care in accordance with recognized clinical practice guidelines and standards set forth by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or similar organizations. Adheres to federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as organizational and industry standards for clinical care. Upholds all health care system/organizational and WMG policies and procedures and clinical competencies put forth by this job description.
