AltaGas - Senior Analyst, Evaluations
AltaGas is seeking a highly talented and driven Senior Analyst to join our Strategic Planning & Evaluations team. In this high-impact role, you’ll be instrumental in evaluating, developing, and optimizing capital investment opportunities across our Midstream division. You’ll collaborate with opportunity managers and cross-functional teams to develop financial models, support project approvals, and contribute to long-range planning and strategic decision-making.
You’ll join a collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment, ideal for a self-starter with strong financial acumen, a passion for the energy industry, and a drive to create value through thoughtful analysis and strategic insight.

You will:

• Partner with Business Development and other stakeholders to build and maintain financial models for organic growth and ad-hoc opportunities.
• Support project due diligence and approval workflows across Midstream and corporate functions.
• Contribute to long-range planning and annual strategy cycles through asset and project modeling.
• Assist with acquisition and divestiture (A&D) due diligence and asset evaluations.
• Analyze industry trends and global energy market developments to inform capital allocation and strategic decisions.
• Prepare executive-level presentations for senior leadership and the Board.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment in all activities.

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• MBA, CPA, or CFA designation is considered an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in business development, corporate planning, investment banking, or a related field—preferably in midstream or upstream oil & gas.
• Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel, with experience evaluating energy sector investments.
• Strong project and time management skills, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, including experience presenting to executive audiences.
• Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment and collaborate across diverse teams.
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion for driving strategic growth and value creation.
