CODE POD HOSTELS CoDE Pod Hostels offers high quality accommodation in a combination of both double and multi-share Pod bed rooms. We are a Capsule Hotel. Our location just off The Royal Mile, opened mid-August 2019, and consists of 200+ beds as well as communal kitchen and social areas, all designed to the highest standard and in keeping with the historic building we occupy. Our original site in Edinburgh, on Rose Street, is seven years old and has consistently been one of the top-rated hostels in the city across all websites. WHO YOU ARE We’re looking for somebody as passionate as we are about making sure our high standards are maintained as the CoDE family grows. Role and Responsibilities: You will need to be flexibile and willing to work a variety of shift patterns inclduing day reception shifts, night reception shifts & housekeeping shifts. Reception work involves food & beverage sales and coffee sales. Night shifts may not be consistent but flexibility it appreciated. This will allow you to get a grasp on all aspects of the business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Front of House (Day/Night) Welcoming and looking after our guests Checking guests in and out Upselling Food & Beverage including making coffees on our Barista Coffee Machine. Bar work, Beer, Whisky & Gin Sales. Kitchen Assistance- working in the kitchen Food Runner- Assisting with Food Service Events- Running events for guests Resolving any guest comments fully Processing card payments Selling tours and products to make sure our guests have as amazing a time as possible Responding to requests, phone calls, emails and reviews in a friendly manner Accurately filling in all reporting necessary I.e lost property, Logit tasks Housekeeping Ensure the highest cleanliness standards are met each shift Shifts will include accurately taking care of our linen deliveries, stripping and making beds, as well as helping the team with the cleaning of rooms and bathrooms. You will also assist in the common areas cleaning and cleaning of kitchens. You will work as a team to clean all guest departures ready in time for guest arrivals. Caring for the building Adhering to all Health and Safety policies for our team and our guests Ensuring doors are locked Reporting maintenance required Reporting lost & found Ensuring the common areas remain clean and tidy for our guests Feeding back any guest comments.
