NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit a highly motivated clinical pharmacist to work in split post within the HEPMA Pharmacy Team and Acute Clinical Pharmacy Team at University Hospital Hairmyres. The position will help to ensure the ambitions of the NHS Lanarkshire Five Year Digital Plan. This includes providing an essential link to clinical teams working on the acute sites to ensure realisation of HEPMA benefits including clinical governance, safety of medicines and prescribing. You will work with other members of the HEPMA team to provide training, ongoing system maintenance, analysis of HEPMA data and complete the roll out to remaining specialist areas including paediatrics and outpatients. The HEPMA team supports clinicians in all three Lanarkshire acute hospitals (University Hospitals Wishaw, Monklands and Hairmyres) and the off-site beds in NHS Lanarkshire.
The post holder will work within ward areas providing specialist advice to medical staff and the multidisciplinary teams to improve and develop the pharmaceutical services. The post holder will be an independent prescriber (or working towards) and will be a mentor/supervisor for junior pharmacists and students undertaking placements.
Participation in the HEPMA on call rota is required as well as a commitment to weekend and public holiday working within University Hospital Hairmyres.
