Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute Inc. CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Project Manager.
This position focuses on mental wellness and measurement-based care for Indigenous youth. We are hiring a full-time Project Manager on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will work with a small leadership team from the CHEO RI and our community partner. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in the operational planning stage of a project aimed at transforming the health system for Indigenous youth in a remote region of Canada and move an Indigenous youth research initiative from the concept stage into operation.
The project will respond to community priorities. Importantly, this project aligns with principles and practices of Indigenous health, culturally relevant approaches, and will incorporate anti-racism and community-based research principles to develop and implement measurement-based care.
The Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for applying principles of human-centred design and innovation, as well as project management methods, theories, and techniques, to ensure that the project is set up to deliver key outcomes on time, within budget, and with high quality and value.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • The ideal applicant will be able to work independently and on a multi-disciplinary and dynamic team. They will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, strong oral and written communication abilities, and have experience using all Microsoft Office Suite applications. Additionally, they will have: Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification (Essential)
  • University undergraduate degree (BA or BSc) (Essential)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in project management (Essential)
  • Expertise in project management software (Essential)
  • High level of proficiency in various computer software and programs (Essential)
  • Ability to ensure timely completion of tasks (Essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
  • High level of professionalism and interprofessional skills (Essential)
  • Proficiency in English (Essential)
  • Proficiency in French (Preferred)
  • Cultural safety training (Preferred)

L’IR du CHEO a immédiatement besoin d’une ou un gestionnaire de projet.
Ce poste est axé sur le bien-être mental et les soins fondés sur des mesures pour les jeunes autochtones. Nous embauchons une ou un gestionnaire de projet à temps plein pour un contrat de six mois. La personne retenue travaillera avec une petite équipe de direction de l’Institut de recherche du CHEO et notre partenaire communautaire. La personne retenue jouera un rôle crucial à l’étape de la planification opérationnelle d’un projet visant à transformer le système de santé pour les jeunes Autochtones dans une région éloignée du Canada et à faire passer une initiative de recherche sur les jeunes Autochtones de l’étape du concept à l’étape de la mise en œuvre.
Le projet répondra aux priorités de la collectivité. Fait important, ce projet s’harmonise avec les principes et les pratiques de la santé autochtones et les approches culturellement pertinentes, et intégrera des principes de lutte contre le racisme et de recherche communautaire pour élaborer et mettre en œuvre des soins fondés sur des mesures.
La ou le gestionnaire de projet sera responsable de l’application des principes de conception et d’innovation axées sur la personne, ainsi que des méthodes, théories et techniques de gestion de projet, afin de garantir que le projet est mis en place pour produire les principaux résultats à temps, en respectant le budget, et avec une qualité et une valeur élevées.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the co-design and implementation of a community and youth engagement strategy to move a research project from the proposal stage into operation
  • Lead the development of a Project Implementation Plan for this project
  • Adapt the implementation plan based on feedback from the community and project leadership
  • Develop summary documentation and maintain implementation plans
  • Provide strategic advice to the project leads on the implementation of the project
  • Identify and document the roles and responsibilities of team members to support implementation
  • Constitute, train and track the progress of working groups and deliverables, including the creation of working groups and work plans for each group
  • Create and maintain up-to-date work plans for yourself and future new team members
  • Lead the team in the selection of outcome measures and indicators for the project and an appropriate data management system
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all the procedures related to this study
  • Build relationships with partners across the system to identify wise processes and challenges
  • Benchmark the project against relevant standards and wise practices
  • Use creativity and expertise to develop new tools and approaches to advance the project where no precedents, best practices or benchmarks exist
