Description
The Opportunity Join a dynamic and highly collaborative Customer Finance team at the heart of Acenda Life’s financial operations, where accuracy meets impact. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity and control of customer Money-In-Money-Out (MiMo) processes, supporting the seamless flow of funds and maintaining trust in every transaction. As a key contributor, you’ll take ownership of essential cashiering and bank reconciliation activities, supporting period-end close processes and helping to ensure financial records are precise, timely, and compliant. You’ll go beyond the numbers, partnering with stakeholders across the business to investigate discrepancies, uncover root causes, and drive meaningful solutions that enhance operational performance. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career finance professional or graduate to build strong foundations in financial control, gain exposure to banking operations, and work closely with both Operations and Technology teams, including contributing to system integration initiatives. If you’re detail-driven, curious, and passionate about delivering the best outcomes for customers, you’ll thrive in an environment that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and proactive risk management. Bring your ambition and grow your finance career in a team that makes a tangible difference every day. How will you make an impact? · Ensure financial integrity by accurately reconciling MiMo bank and suspense accounts, maintaining confidence in customer transactions. · Strengthen month-end close processes through timely preparation of reconciliations, journals, and payment activities. · Resolve discrepancies efficiently by investigating reconciliation items, identifying root causes, and driving clear action plans. · Enhance customer outcomes by ensuring funds are processed correctly and issues are resolved with urgency and care. · Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, and external banking partners to improve processes and outcomes. · Drive continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies and contributing ideas that streamline cashiering and reconciliation activities. · Support system integration initiatives by working alongside Technology teams to optimise connectivity between banking platforms and policy systems. · Uphold strong risk and compliance standards by adhering to controls, policies, and procedures while proactively identifying and escalating risks. · Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders by providing clear communication, insights, and finance guidance. · Contribute to a positive team culture by bringing energy, accountability, and a solutions-focused mindset to the workplace. About you To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following: · A strong foundation in accounting principles, with either a completed or in-progress undergraduate qualification and a clear commitment to building a finance career. · High attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring financial data is reliable and reconciliation discrepancies are identified quickly. · Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate variances and determine root causes. · Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. · A proactive and curious mindset, with a willingness to take initiative and continuously improve processes. · Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines, particularly during period-end close. · A customer-first approach, with a genuine desire to deliver the best outcomes and maintain trust in financial processes. · An understanding or interest in insurance and financial services, and how finance supports broader business operations. · A collaborative team orientation, contributing positively to team culture and supporting shared success. · A commitment to risk awareness and compliance, consistently following policies, procedures, and controls while escalating issues appropriately.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on ensuring the integrity of customer Money-In-Money-Out processes through accurate bank and suspense account reconciliations. It involves supporting period-end close activities and collaborating with Technology and Operations teams to optimize system integrations.
