Description

POSITION: Chemical Engineer
DURATION: Full-time permanent position
LOCATION: Scarborough, ON
SALARY: $95,000 – $108,000 per Year
Duration: Full-time permanent role

Overview:

  • Must hold an engineering degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a P.Eng. designation or working towards licensing in Ontario.
  • Have min. 3-5 years experience in plant engineering, chemical, petrochemical or other similar manufacturing environment.
  • Previous exposure to hazardous areas (Cl.1 Div.1 and Cl.1. Div. 2) will be considered a benefit.
  • Have Steam, Condensate, & Cogeneration systems knowledge
  • Possess a sound technical knowledge in applicable engineering principles/codes
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with a variety of contractors, covering all aspects of daily activities in the plant
  • Have experience in planning and overseeing scheduled plant turnarounds on time & on budget
  • Be Proficient in refinery (heavy industrial) processes, heat transfer equipment, rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, fans, vacuum pumps, specialized filtration systems, etc.).
  • Understand basic power distribution, motor control centers, VFDs, soft starters, low voltage equipment (600V) & high voltage (27.6kV)
  • Run various projects related to plant equipment, building maintenance & operations, HVAC systems, refrigeration (NH3, glycol, etc.)
