As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.   We are seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Student, for our Saskatoon District, within our Canadian Buildings Division that is available for  4, 8, 12 or 16 months starting January 2026Responsibilities Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations Managing documents (ie. data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.) Assisting with the orientation of new employees Developing of training materials Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI, tailgate meetings, safework procedure, trend analysis) Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information Interpreting, communicating, and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce Qualifications Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong willingness to learn PCL is an innovative, employee-owned company comprised of people who find passion in their profession and take pride in doing great work every day.
