Providing a customer focused service, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist a participant under the NDIS to develop daily life skills
  • Maintain the participants home
  • Seek and engage with volunteering and/or work opportunities
  • Community participation
  • Socialize and create friendships
  • Travel training
  • Assistance with medication including prompting
  • Assist participants to access the community including shopping and social outings
  • Transport participants to appointments and run errands

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this opportunity you must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 12 months Disability and / or Mental Health experience is essential
  • Relevant Certificate Qualification (e.g. Certificate 3 Disability and / or Mental Health) or equivalent experience is highly regarded
  • Have a passionate attitude with the ability to be empathetic, creative and motivated by the challenge to support individuals living with a disability to reach their goals
  • Have the ability to work autonomously, be proactive with problem solving and follow directions from supervisors
  • Sound knowledge and working understanding of computers and software programs
  • Blue Card (and Yellow Card exemption) is highly desirable
  • Currently hold or have the ability to hold a current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Provide a short list of hobbies and interests

The successful applicant must also hold an Australian Open Drivers Licence, Evidence of Rights to Work in Australia and be able to provide two current reference contacts.
