About the role: System Design and Architecture: Design the architecture of ICT systems, including servers and storage solutions, while considering factors such as scalability, redundancy, and performance. System Maintenance and Monitoring: Ensuring that all IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, and other critical infrastructure, is centrally monitored and operating in a healthy state. Server Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining both physical servers and virtual machines, ensuring they run optimally by applying updates and patches. Develop and maintain detailed infrastructure designs, specifications, processes, and diagrams. Cloud Infrastructure Management: Managing cloud-based resources, including provisioning cloud instances and ensuring integration with on-premises systems. Security Management: Defending assets from cyber security threats through ongoing system patching including the continued growth of cyber security maturity though then enhancement of Essential 8 posture. Ensure compatibility and integration across various infrastructure platforms and components. Design infrastructure with performance, scalability, reliability, and security in mind. Integrate cloud services into infrastructure designs (AWS, Azure, etc.). Align platform components with enterprise architectures, strategies, policies, and standards. Build and operate Continuous Integration (CI) environments, including source control and deployment pipelines. Manage virtualised, cloud, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments. Automate infrastructure through scripting, orchestration tools, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. Use containerisation technologies (preferably Kubernetes) to streamline application deployment and scaling. Produce clear and concise documentation to support ICT systems, aligned with best practice and governance frameworks. About you: Australian citizen (required for Defence projects) with a min AGSVA NV1 clearance. The ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance is preferred. Experience working in a Defence project setting, preferably in either complex ICT, Engineering or Technology integration environments. A BACH or other tertiary qualification relative to your role. Familiar with ISM, DSPF, PSPF. Defence industry – Any ICT/ Technology category. ICT Systems Engineering / WINTEL / Solutions Architecture. Scripting / PowerShell automation.
