As a Senior Software Engineer in the Experimentation Platform team, you will play a critical role in advancing the capabilities of our platform and expanding our platform’s reach and impact. Your expertise as an engineer will lead to robust, scalable but also pragmatic solutions across the Zalando ecosystem. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Passion for building robust and reliable systems that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization
• Solid experience as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development and deployment of distributed systems, ideally in a cloud-native environment.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and deliver high-quality solutions, collaborating effectively with other engineers and stakeholders.
• A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
• Strong understanding of data flow, scalability considerations, and continuous integration/deployment processes.
• Experience with data-rich applications and an understanding of data processing techniques is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with experimentation platforms, data engineering concepts, or experimentation methodologies is a plus as is experience with one or more of the relevant programming languages (Java, Scala, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS)

• Create and deliver tailored experimentation systems, contributing to the full development lifecycle from initial architecture design to testing and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers and Applied Scientists to ensure alignment on architectural vision and experimentation methodologies.

• Exercise technical leadership and ownership, proactively seeking opportunities to break down silos and drive creative solutions that benefit the broader organization.
