Position Description :
Serco is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Finance with program financial management skills to lead a team in support of our Employment Services Portfolio estimated to be $100M. This role calls for a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Key attributes we are seeking for this role include both the willingness to dig deeply into details, as well as the ability to assess the big picture. This position is a Hybrid/Telework opportunity with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. Office is located in Downtown Toronto Canada and reports to our SVP Business Finance . If you consistently demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new information you will thrive in this position.
The Senior Manager of Business Finance is responsible for the management of finance employees involved in program financial management and analysis, monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, and process improvement. You will be responsible for providing business guidance to Operational Leaders to achieve financial and operational goals, as well as recommending actions to improve progress and performance.
As the leader of the Employment Services Portfolio finance organization for this business unit, the Director of Business Finance will be responsible for oversight of all aspects of operational finance for their supported program(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong management and finance control background with experience in government contracting.

Responsibilities

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE:

Responsible for providing lead level financial support to Employment Services Portfolio Program Managers in the preparation and analysis of complex project financial data and business-related tasks
Lead month-end financial close to include revenue recognition, cost accruals and inventory reconciliation
Support accounts receivable as required during the billing processing. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, working with Finance, Contracts, Accounting and PMO to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Provide pricing strategy and cost volume support / development for new business opportunities in Business Segment.
Partner with program manager(s) to develop and support monthly and annual program financial forecast.
Prepare financial presentations and reports in a professional organized manner
Liaison between operations and other administrative support organizations on financial issues. Interfaces with subcontractors, vendors, and customers as required.
Provide cost, schedule and funding planning, reporting, monitoring and analysis support to Program Managers including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and development of time-phased budgets and schedules.
Prepare program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) and meet deadlines for submission requirements. Ensure program revenue and profit is recorded in compliance with the EAC.
Identify project risks and opportunities and provide analytical contribution in working resolution with PM, Contracts, Procurement and Finance/Accounting.
Be responsible for the management of the finance employees involved in program control and analysis. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees.
Direct, implement, and administer formal aspects of financial management for their team in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations.
Qualifications :

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or equivalent
8 years of related experience
Experience with preparing program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) or forecasting experience.
Pricing experience.
Experience with providing pricing strategy and cost volume support / development for new business opportunities in Business Segment.
Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment with a focus on high professional standards, strong follow-up and successful project execution.
Must be eligable to work in Canada.
