JOB SUMMARY:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for our Same Day Surgery located within the Florence Hospital.
Shift/Hours: 1st PRN

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Scheduling Requirements: Team members are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours within each six-week scheduling period. Shift lengths may vary based on departmental needs and can include 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts. The unit operates daily between 5:30 AM and 8:30 PM, and scheduling will align with operational coverage requirements.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES:

  • High school Diploma / GED

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • General computer skills and applications

KIND AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Customer service experience

Responsibilities
  • Utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone.
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients
